This page includes all of the information you need to get to and from Celebration Barn. Once you receive your workshop confirmation email, you may begin making your travel arrangements. We advise planning your travel well in advance.
Of note: Celebration Barn offers a taxi shuttle between Portland and the Barn on arrival and departure days. A reservation one week in advance is required and the fee is $100. This fee covers arrival and departure, although it does not require you to use the shuttle for both legs of the trip. In other words, the shuttle is $80 whether you use it once or twice.
Workshop Arrival and Departure
Students should arrive at the Barn between 3:00 and 6:00 PM Eastern Time on Sunday (arrival day) and must depart no later than 10:00 AM on Saturday (departure day).

Travel by Airplane
Celebration Barn is 50 miles from the Portland International Jetport (a roughly one hour drive). Please note that there are two Portland Airports in the United States. We are on the East Coast, in Maine. The airport code is PWM.
If you plan on taking the Barn shuttle between Portland and the Barn it’s necessary to schedule your arrival into Portland before 4:00 PM on arrival day, and your departure from Portland after 10:00 AM.

Travel by Train
Amtrak has service to the Portland Transportation Center (100 Thompson’s Point Road, Portland, ME 04102). You must change stations in Boston to get to Portland, then a taxi, rideshare, rental car, or Celebration Barn shuttle will bring you the rest of the way.
Travel by Bus
Bus terminals in Portland include Greyhound (274 Marginal Way. Portland, ME 04101) and Concord Trailways (Portland Transportation Center, 100 Thompson’s Point Road, Portland, ME 04102). A taxi, rideshare, rental car, or Celebration Barn shuttle will bring you the rest of the way.
The bus terminal in Lewiston, ME (a 22-mile / 35-minute ride from the Barn) is Greyhound (111 Bates St. Lewiston, ME 04240). A taxi, rideshare service or rental car will bring you the rest of the way. There is no complimentary shuttle between Lewiston/Auburn and the Barn.

Jetport Taxi – (207) 807-9797. Jetport Taxi (for up to 3 passengers) will run about $125 (not including tip). Call at least 3 days ahead and mention that you’re heading to/from Celebration Barn.

You may also use a ridesharing app, such as Uber or Lyft. Please note, however, that, unlike in larger metropolitan areas, rideshare services are not always available from Celebration Barn to Portland. If you plan on using a ridesharing service for your departure, we recommend that you have a back-up plan in case a car is not available in time.

Shuttle
You are responsible for making all of your own travel arrangements (unless otherwise communicated). Because we want to make getting to the Barn as efficient and affordable as possible, we hire a taxi company to provide a shuttle service between Portland the Celebration Barn. If you would like to take advantage of the shuttle, the fee is $80 and you must reserve your spot one week in advance of your arrival.
Please note that the fee is $80 for the shuttle from Portland to the Barn and from the Barn back to Portland. The fee is the same whether you take one or both legs of the trip. (There are reasons for this which are a bit complicated to explain, but if you come to the Barn and are still curious, we are more than happy to explain.)

Arrival day: Departs Portland at 2:00 PM and 4:30 PM
Departure day: Departs Celebration Barn at 7:00 AM
Shuttle times are firm. If you are using the shuttle on the day of arrival, therefore, please be sure to schedule your arrival for no later than 4:00 PM. The shuttle will not be able to wait for students arriving late. The ride between Portland and the Barn is roughly 1 hour.
