Travel Information


You are responsible for making all your travel arrangements, including limousine, taxi service, or car rental, if needed, from Portland or Lewiston to the Barn.

If you have any questions, contact us at the Barn.

Typically, students should arrive anytime between 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. on the day before their workshop starts, and must depart no later than 10 a.m. on the day after their workshop ends. PLEASE NOTE: some workshops have non-standard arrival times. This is listed in the information for each individual workshop. Please double check!

By airplane:

Celebration Barn is 50 miles from the Portland International Jetport. You should schedule your arrival in Portland before 5 p.m., and your departure from Portland after 10 a.m.

Airlines flying into Portland include:

You must make arrangements for limo service IN ADVANCE to get from the Portland airport to the Barn. Limousine and taxi service is available from the Jetport to Celebration Barn. You usually only need limo or taxi service one way (you can usually get a ride back to the airport from another student). Taxi service from Portland has a listed fare of $85. Limousine service is usually available for $75 from

By train:

Amtrak now has service to Portland. You must change stations in Boston to get to Portland, then limousine/taxi service or a rental car will bring you the rest of the way (see above).

Greyhound/Vermont Transit and Concord Trailways have terminals in Portland. Limousine/taxi service or rental cars will bring you the rest of the way (see above).
