![]() General Workshop Information What to bring: You must bring your own bedding, pillows, and towels. All beds are twin size. Warm clothing. It can get cold here, even in the summer. Cool clothing. It also gets hot! Rain gear. It also gets wet! Props, costumes, music, scripts, etc. that you want to work with at your workshop. Your instructor will inform you of any particular items you should bring for the workshop. • We recommend bringing flip-flops or sandals for indoors and a good pair of walking shoes for enjoying the outdoors. • There is wi-fi in the Barn and you may consider bringing a lap-top computer. • Please, leave your pets at home! Getting to the Barn: You are responsible for making all your travel arrangements, including limousine, taxi service, or car rental, if needed, from Portland or Lewiston to the Barn. We are happy to help coordinate ride-sharing when available. Please let us know your time of arrival at the airport or bus station or city of departure to see if this is possible. Please review our recommendations BEFORE booking your travel. Click here for more travel information. Tuition and refunds: A non-refundable deposit is due upon registration. The remainder is due on the day you arrive. No refunds will be made in the event of interruption or cancellation by the student after the workshop has begun. All payments must be in U.S. funds. Discounts: An early registration discount is available if you register by May 1st. You will receive a $50 discount off your registration total. A 10% discount is also available to individuals registering for more than one workshop or for group registrations from the same immediate family or performing ensemble. The 10% discount is applied to the full workshop fee (early registration savings do not apply). Acceptance: When we receive your application and deposit, we will send your information to the instructor(s) for their approval. We will notify you as soon as possible whether or not you are accepted into the workshop. Age requirement: Generally, students must be 18 years old to apply but occasionally exceptions are made for mature younger students. If you are not yet 18, and wish to be considered, please call or email Mandy@CelebrationBarn.com Arrival and departure: Typically, students should arrive anytime between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. on the Monday their workshop starts. Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. that evening. Some teachers will have a first class following dinner, others will begin on Tuesday morning. Students must depart no later than 10 a.m. on the day after their workshop ends. Classes: Classes usually begin at 9 a.m. Afternoons and evenings often include time for developing and showing scenes. For longer workshops, there are usually no classes on Saturdays and Sundays, so that students may work on scenes and rest. Housing: Housing is included in the tuition fee. There is no discount for those staying elsewhere. All rooms are double occupancy. Generally, rooms are available on a first come, first served basis. If a workshop is sold out, we will assign rooms. If you wish to request a roommate, please let us know the week before your workshop begins. You must provide your own (twin-size) bedding and towels. If you would prefer to bring a tent, there is plenty of room for camping on the property. Meals: Lunch and dinner on class days are included in the tuition. We serve delicious, healthy meals in buffet style, always with a vegetarian option. No discount will be provided for students who choose not to participate in the meal program. Each student will be asked to fill out a meal questionnaire before arrival, to indicate any special dietary needs. Breakfast is on your own. The Barn has a large kitchen with plenty of storage for you to prepare your own breakfast Food is not provided during Residencies. Performances: Celebration Barn has public performances on Saturday nights. Participation in student performances will be left up to the individual instructors. If you have family or friends planning to come to the show, reservations are recommended. Recreation: Celebration Barn is in the middle of the lakes and mountains district. There are plenty of activities including swimming, hiking, and fishing. See "In The Area" for more information. Don't forget to bring the necessary equipment and clothing with you.
